The U.S. Air Force KC-45 Tanker's Aerial Refueling Boom System (ARBS) completed its initial in-flight fuel transfer on Feb. 29, 2008 with an F-16 aircraft, transferring approximately 2,000 pounds of fuel during multiple contacts. Since the initial fuel transfer, the KC-45's ARBS has undergone rigorous testing while performing additional in-flight fuel transfers. The video highlights one of the recent mid-air refueling milestones. All fuel transfers have been performed with an ARBS installed on an A310 test bed aircraft.
